DRINKERO
Fresh, vibrant blanco tequila with sweet agave, bright citrus and a lightly peppery finish.
Espolòn Blanco is an unaged tequila made from 100% Blue Weber agave in Mexico. Its fresh profile combines cooked and sweet agave character with citrus, tropical fruit and a gentle peppery edge. Because it is bottled without barrel ageing, the emphasis remains on the lively character of the agave rather than oak.
That makes Espolòn Blanco particularly useful for cocktails. Fresh lime, grapefruit and orange flavours can sit alongside the tequila without covering it completely, while its clean finish keeps citrus-led drinks bright and refreshing. It is versatile enough for shaken classics such as the Margarita as well as longer drinks including the Paloma and Tequila Sunrise.
We selected Espolòn Blanco for Drinkero because we wanted one tequila that could work naturally across several classic recipes. It has enough agave character to remain noticeable in a Margarita, while still being clean and approachable enough for fruitier and longer tequila drinks.
For a cocktail kit, that versatility matters. You are not buying a bottle that only makes sense in one recipe — leftover tequila can easily become your next Paloma, Tequila Sunrise or another round of Margaritas.
Expect a fresh agave-led profile with citrus and tropical fruit notes, followed by light pepper and subtle sweeter notes. The overall character is bright rather than heavy, which is one reason blanco tequila works so naturally with fresh lime and grapefruit.

Start with Espolòn Blanco in a classic Margarita with Cointreau and fresh lime. Cointreau adds bright orange character while fresh lime provides the acidity, leaving enough room for the tequila's agave character to come through.
If you prefer something longer and fruitier, use the same bottle for a Tequila Sunrise with orange juice and grenadine. It is an easy way to get two very different cocktails from the same tequila.
Blanco tequila is bottled without the extended barrel ageing found in reposado and añejo styles. This generally gives it a fresher, more direct agave character, making blanco a natural starting point for cocktails built around citrus and fresh flavours.
For Drinkero's Margarita and Tequila Sunrise, blanco is our preferred style. A reposado can create a richer, rounder variation, but it is not necessary for the classic versions of either drink.
